Cultivate the habit and hobby of thinking positive all the time Don't for a moment let a single negative thought overwhelm your mind. Keep all worries at bay. Surround yourself with optimistic or positive thinking people.
Practice silence-whenever you're angry. Meditate through focusing on
your breathing. Or read something light such as comics or jokes to lift
your moods. But never snack on junk food such as noodles, Pizzas and
/Burgers, Bakery products and sweets. Snack on healthy fruits such as
Oranges, Sweet Lime, Apples, Blue berries, Black berries, Guavas,
Papaya, walnuts, peanuts etc which are highly nutritious.
Health is Wealth. Hence do regular exercise at least for half an hour
daily such as Brisk walking, running, playing Shuttle Badminton, Ping
Pong/Table Tennis or even caroms, which make you feel good about
yourself due to release of bodies natural endorphins
chemicals/painkillers and mood elevators. Once you've good health you
can be happy and it works wonders for you and increases your level of
confidence in yourself and makes you feel on top of the world.
Try to have good interpersonal relations with every one. In order to do
this cultivate the habit of appreciating others selflessly for whatever
they are worth at-be their good looks, be their talents, their sense of
humor or job achievements etc. Once you've smooth relations with
everyone around and make everyone your friend, popularity comes to you
on its own. Make others feel worthy and important. That is the Master
Key to your success and happiness. Use compliments liberally
Try to be financially independent. Be it employment through self or job
in some organization. This also boosts your confidence and in turn
contributes to your overall health and wellbeing. Many Banks are giving
loans to promote self employment and The Government and Many NGO's etc
are offering training in different skills such as communication,
interpersonal and entrepreneurial and job skills. Hence, shed lethargy
and take immediate positive steps in accordance with my tips as said
above.
Read at least one Standard News Paper daily which is popular locally.
Improve your English by reading English News Papers and Magazines etc.
English has become a Global and widely spoken common language. Without
knowledge of Good English you're nowhere. News Papers keep you abreast
of what is happening around you. Cultivate Critical Thinking or
analytical thinking habit consciously. Try to keep things in
perspective. View a particular topic or thing from several angles and
analyze. Good Reasoning abilities are a must in majority of job
recruitment drives now a days. Having knowledge about various things and
subjects again boosts your confidence levels which in turn leads to
your happiness.Cultivate
friendship with learned people and learn many new things from them
which you weren't aware of hither to before.Cultivate good listening
skills and give the other person chance to speak. After he finishes
with his talk and he asks for your opinion/suggestions then only you
open your mouth. cultivate the habit of empathy. Stand in his shoes and
view things from his side although you may not agree with him on that
point. Your reputation as a good person gains prominence and you'd've
much less enemies than before.
Never feel Jealous of anyone. Everyone has talent or something good
about him or her. Encourage the other persons good qualities and let him
thrive, bask and bathe in those qualities, which make him happy. If you
make other people happy,you also would feel happy. Thus, happiness
breeds happiness.
Stand for a good cause and become part of groups that promote such good
causes. Such as Natural Calamities Relief camp, Part of Rights
Activists of Differently abled, Human Rights Activist, Womens' Rights
Activist, Environment Activists , Children's
Rights Activists, charities and so on and so forth. Then You'd become a
great admirable personality. Universal Brotherhood should be the
ultimate motto of every one. We should rise above all
petty considerations such as caste, creed, religion rich poor divide,
race and strive for their total eradication from this planet. Selfless
service to fellow human being is equal to service to God.
Believe in some supernatural being and offer your daily prayers for
fulfilling your possible wishes. Talking to God enlivens your spirits
and you'd feel relieved of your mental burden. If you don't've
trustworthy people to share your problems with- either share them with
God and wish for their solution or jot down all your problems and their possible solutions in a Journal. Problem writing journal does good to your mind.
Have targets either in your academics or jobs. First keep small goals-
one at a time. After attaining your goal, then set a bigger goal, which
ultimately helps you in gaining self confidence and reaching your set
target. Excel in whatever you take up. Perfection is not required. In order to excel give your 100% to what ever your goal is.
Have good sense of humor and laugh a lot. Read
Good Jokes or view tongue in cheek cartoons. Approach everything in your
life with joy de vivre. Being able to laugh at yourself or at life's
ironies is a good self image booster. Never laugh at people for their
defects for no body is perfect. Laugh with them.
Welcome constructive Criticism from
people who care for you regarding your qualities be they personality
disorders or your shortcomings in your work etc, hear them patiently and
try to overcome your shortcomings in respect of your work or other
negative traits and ultimately excel in them by overcoming those negative qualities/traits in you. Don't develop animosity towards people who constructively point out your shortcomings. Improve
upon your drawbacks where you fall short and excel in it. You'd be
liked by everyone around. Don't try to pick faults of others and such
things make people avoid you like a pest. Try to be diplomatic. Unless
it is extremely necessary don't tell lies. Forget and forgive people for
their bitter remarks against you."To err is human and To forgive is
divine ". Developing animosity toward the person who hurt would not help
and make your mind agitated and would seek retaliation against the
person who hurt you. According to Dale Carnegie "Unjust Criticism is
often a disguised Compliment". So forget and forgive him. You'd be happy
with no bitterness against the causer of the hurt to your mind or body.
Meditation and Breathing techniques such as Nadi Shodhana Pranayama
improve your physical and mental strength/powers. Practice Nadi Shodhana
or Anuloma Viloma Pranayama in the following way. By closing your
right nostril with your right thumb inhale to 4 counts through your
left nostril and hold for two counts and close your left nostril with
your right hand ring finger and exhale through your right nostril to 4
counts. Repeat for at least for 3 minutes in the beginning and gradually
increase it for 10 minutes or more. Gradually increase the counts; but
inhale, hold breath and exhale should always be in 1:1/2:1 ratio. After
you attain perfection in this try for 6:3:6. Practice this breathing
technique slowly and rithmatically. You would feel definitely relaxed
and at peace with your self. If you want success in a particular thing,
create a visual picture of your success in your mind about achieving
that goal and to your surprise actually you'd meet with success in
regard to that goal. Thus make achieving success in all
your chosen goals and targets a regular habit and there would be no
looking back for you from then on. You'd be awarded and rewarded for
your successful achievements, which in turn contribute to your
happiness.
. Have a daily Good
Night's sleep of 8 hours at least. If you can indulge, take an afternoon
siesta of one hour. According to a recent statistical and scientific
study- afternoon naps raise your overall IQ and keeps your mind very
sharp all through the day besides keeping you physically active all day long. Good Sleep increases your memory power.
If you've some health problems such as Hyper Tension,
Diabetes etc keeping yourself happy and bidding an adieu to worries
keep your B.P and Sugar levels normal. You'd be less susceptible to
Heart Attacks, Strokes etc.
Drink at least 3 cups of Green Tea, as it is packed with rich anti
oxidants and it reduces your oxidative stress, It works as an anti
aging beverage and improves your immunity and is a surefire stress
buster. Also, take cod liver oil supplements daily, which have omegas 3
fatty acids and protect you from heart attacks. Non Vegetarians can
eat fish to boost the intake of Omega 3 and omega 6 fatty acids and
reduce Heart Attacks.
Death or divorce from your loved ones shouldn't be allowed to break your heart and gloomy and sullen all the time. With passage of time their memories wane. Time is the best healer of all sorts of mental wounds.
All
those people who are not optimists should follow my pearls of wisdom in
the above tips given by me and embrace eternal happiness.
